My Birthday fun!

Hey friends!

I had a wonderful birthday. The celebration went on for days! My cube-mates had decorated my desk with flowers and balloons...

and had left me a birthday button to wear---and of course, I did wear it!

But then had a brain cramp when someone unexpectedly wished me a happy birthday, wondering how they knew! We had ice cream and cake, too!!

But wait there is more...when I arrived home my sweetheart gave me roses and more balloons!

I had planned a stamping evening on my birthday because stamping is my favorite thing to do. Here's the Make & Takes I prepared....
there's a cookie in there, wrapped up tight

Now you can check out the cookie I stamped with the Sweet Pressed Cookie stamp--love it!

Easy Events tag

Easy Events birthday card and notched envelope

Christmas card (more about this card in a later post)

Reason to Smile card

My oldest came to stamp, too---an extra special treat for me!

My sweetheart treated my stampers and me to a Carvel ice cream cake--yummy!!

But the celebration didn't end there....the next day my little daughter painted and decorated my toes before my sweetheart took us to lunch. Awesome cream of crab soup and crab cakes!

Pink and purple toe nails with sparklies
The celebration wasn't over since I had dinner the next week with my best girlfriends. I feel so spoiled!! I captured the event with a few photos...

Great convention classes! I am....

Hey friends!

While attending Stampin Up's 2012 convention I attended some fabulous classes---one of the great benefits of being a demonstrator!

Want to know a little about them? Well I am glad you asked!
  • On Thursday it was, I am Reaching Out presented by Emily Montoya and I am Open for Business presented by the fabulous Carrie Cudney.
  • More great classes on Friday, with Emily Montoya's presentation "I am Starting Out" and I am Doing Business "My Way" by Tami White and Ronda Wade.
  • I attended an extra (special) class with the Stampin Up design team--I am Creative, facilitated by Shannon West. We learned more traditional and non-traditional techniques to use on our paper craft projects; these "secrets" will give projects a secret-sauce design boost!! I feel a little like Forrest Gump in saying it was beyond awesome...that's all I got to say about that!
  • Saturday I sat in on the last 2 classes of the convention--"I am Having Fun" by Shannon West and "I am Savvy" with presentations by Dawn Griffith, Meg Wheeler, and Laura Milligan.
A big THANK YOU to all the presenters for sharing their valuable knowledge! I learned so much and can't wait to start putting it too good use!

My convention swap & Shelli's creative challenge--a little summer fun!

Hey friends!

I fell in love with the idea of putting a pinwheel on a card and couldn't wait to give it a whirl so to speak! And to make it even more fun, I had a chance to use some of the new products in the new Stampin Up annual catalog.

I used several new SU products on this card---the designer series paper used for the pinwheel along with the birthday greeting and coordinating framelit die are all from the new SU annual catalog.

Speaking of fun, I had a blast at the SU convention--check out some of my recent posts to see how much fun! I'm already making plans to attend next year, the 25th anniversary of SU; I'm sure it will be an amazing celebration!! Join my SU team now and start planning to attend with me!

Ingredients

Recipe:
  • Emboss the Real Red cs using the polka dot folder; adhere to the Daffodil Delight cs.
  • Adhere the 3" wooden skewer piece using glue dots to the card front. Slide a small piece of the red ribbon under the skewer and tie it.
  • Lightly draw a pencil line on the backside of the DSP corner making an X. Cut each line toward the center, stopping about 3/4" from the center. Erase lines.
  • With the DSP right side face up bring a corner of one cut section to the center and glue down; it doesn't matter whether it is the right or left corner piece just be consistent with the other pieces. Bring the next corner to the center and adhere; repeat until 4 corners are attached to the center.
  • Pierce a hole in the center where the corners meet; insert a glimmer brad.
  • Adhere the pinwheel to card front with a dimensional, covering the top part of the wooden skewer.
  • Stamp the happy birthday greeting in Real red ink on the scrap piece of white cs; cut it out with the coordinating framelit die. Adhere over the wooden skewer using glue dots.
