Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Art Gallery Happy Birthday

Hi Friends!

Welcome to our monthly Paper Crafting Blog Hop! This month we are sharing projects to wish a special person a Happy Birthday. These projects were created by talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we share projects with various design styles. You may have arrived from Sue Boerner's blog. What a wonderful birthday project!

My project features the lovely Art Gallery stamp set. Although there are coordinating Floral Gallery dies, my project uses just the stamps. The stamps alone create a "wow" birthday card!
Art Gallery stamps (158201) and Floral Gallery dies (154316)

The floral images in the Art Gallery stamp set are 2-step stamps. Meaning you stamp the base image then can add depth and contrast by stamping a separate image on top. Depending on the look you want to achieve, you can use the same ink or a darker ink color.

I stamped the highlights in a darker ink on top of the base ink, Flirty Flamingo; I added highlights with Calypso Coral, a darker ink, stamping full strength and by stamping off. I like the mixture. Which highlights do you prefer, full strength or stamped off? Please leave me a comment letting me know which you prefer. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you for hopping around the world with us. Keep hopping to see even more projects celebrating birthdays! Click on the Next Blog image below to hop over to Maureen Rauchfuss' blog to see her fabulous birthday project.

Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Butterfly Bouquet Happy Birthday!

Hi friends!

Welcome to our monthly Paper Crafting Blog Hop! This month we are sharing projects to celebrate birthdays. These projects were created by talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we share inspiring projects with various design styles. You may have arrived from Sandy Ward’s blog. What a fabulous birthday project!

My project features the Butterfly Bouquet collection. I love the stamps, the coordinating dies and paper! The collection is so yummy 😊!

I loved the cards shown in the Stampin' Up! promotional materials that I had to copy them (CASE - copy-and-share-everything). The inspiration for my birthday cards came from 2 cards in the Stampin' Up! resource below.
I love these cards!

I started with the card on the far left. It was an easy card to assemble with just three passes through my Cut & Emboss machine. The Butterfly Bijou designer series paper (DSP) (available while supplies last!) provided the butterflies (first pass) and the watercolor-look squares. The Natural Touch specialty paper (available while supplies last!) is thin enough that I could die cut to add the "worm holes" to all 3 rectangles in one pass - sweet time saver when each piece has 2 "worm hole" die cuts.
My version of the card on the left

The Butterfly Bijou DSP again provides the lovely focal points in the next card. The DSP includes the watercolor-look paper and the 2 large butterflies that were die cut using the brilliant Wings dies. I stamped the Butterfly Brilliance for the 3 smaller butterflies. One I colored using the light Daffodil Delight Blends marker, one I colored with the Flirty Flamingo combo Blends markers, and the last one I used the Wink of Stella pen with a Just Jade ink pad. To bring out the "scratched" die cuts on the Natural Touch paper, I ran my paper piercing tool between the cuts made by the die.

Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Happy Birthday

Hello friends!

Welcome to our monthly Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring projects from talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we share fun projects and various design styles. This month theme is Happy Birthday. You may have arrived from Sue Boerner’s blog. Her project is wonderful!

When it comes to birthday cards I struggle to make masculine cards. Maybe because I like embellishing with ribbon or maybe because I'm drawn to more feminine stamp sets. Whatever the reason, this is an area where my crafting mojo suffers.

I designed this card for my monthly stamp club. As I thought about what projects I wanted to share with them I knew I wanted to use the new In Colors (love them!) and I wanted a masculine card that could be used for either a birthday or Father's Day. I started with a card sketch but this card soon morph away from it but still met all my criteria.

Do you also struggle with masculine cards? I'd love to hear your tips and tricks when making masculine cards.

Without further ado, my card...featuring Cinnamon Cider cardstock, In Color 2020-21 designer series paper (DSP) with Cinnamon Cider and Misty Moonlight colors, and the Happy Birthday sentiment from the new A Grand Kid stamp set. I embossed the cardbase with the Subtle embossing folder and added a bit of linen thread.

Happy Birthday
This version uses a retired Father's Day sentiment.
