She was pinned!

Hello friends!

My daughter successfully competed her nursing program! The nursing school does a pinning ceremony instead of a graduation. I'm not sure why this is but it is!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello friends!

Love is in the air! It inspired to make my sweetheart a valentine.

I had several cards on hand from previous classes...
Banner Blast

Hearts a Flutter

Modern Medley
but decided the occasion called for something a little out of the ordinary.

I've been chomping at the bit to make a card in a box and this was the perfect opportunity! I kept my color scheme to pool party, white, and real red and limited myself to a few stamp sets--Follow My Heart, Countless Sayings, and Perfect Pennants. I embellished with the small and full heart punches and the SAB banner punch. What do you think?
love the colors

closed--fits into a A2 envelope

And what's really cool is the card fits in a an envelope for a 5.5x4.25" card!

I followed 2 tutorials--Heather Summers and Heidi Weaver. I'd love to see your valentine cards or card in a box projects!

Stamping is fun!

Glitter napkin cards

Hello friends!

I recently saw a youtube tutorial for a glitter napkin technique by serenestamper. I fell in love and could not rest until I had made my own glitter napkin cards!

I started with some fall paper napkins I found at Michael's...

Then I found that I could also use glossy embossing powder and iridescent ice embossing powder...love it!

I taught a class on making 3x3" gift tags using napkins I found at the dollar store and fancy tissues I bought at Michael's. We used iridescent ice embossing powder. I find that it gives plenty of shimmer but offers a clearer view of the napkin pattern.

At Ikea I found cute paper napkins...the colors go great with Stampin Up's Rose Red and Pink Pirouette; I used them to teach my stamping friends the iridescent ice glitter napkin technique. I love this card! What do you think?

Staming is fun...and so is the Glitter Napkin technique using Stampin Up's Iridescent Ice embossing powder!

2013 Cookie Exchange

Hello friends!

I particpated in a cookies exchange at my office and wanted to share! Not the cookies but my cookie packaging!

Last year, everyone loved the Raspberry Almond Thumbprint Shortbread cookies I made and asked that I make them again; since they are easy to make I agreed! It's a Land o'Lakes recipe that my sister found many years ago--it's a family favorite now. Want the recipe? Click here.

There were 10 particpants in the exchange; we made a half dozen cookies for each other. I packaged my cookies in Stampin Up's cello bags tied with cherry cobble 1/4" sweater trim tied in a bow. The trim mached the raspberry centers and cello bags let everyone see the pretty cookies inside!

Stamping is fun...sharing cookies is fun, too!
