Retiring but still Inspiring Day 1 - Rooted in Nature

Hi friends!

Some of my favorite stamps and dies are retiring after May 3, 2021. To wish them a fond farewell I'm blogging about how awesome they are. I think they are so awesome that you'll be inspired to purchase them before they are gone for good!

Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop -- Thinking of You Girls theme

Welcome to our monthly Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring projects from talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we share fun projects and various design styles. This month theme is Thinking of You Girls. You may have arrived from Sue Boerner’s blog. Her project is fabulous!

With the social distancing requirements here in Maryland, I've been missing my friends, those fabulous women who cheer me on, celebrate with me, and give hugs when needed. I started a card blitz to keep in touch with them while I wait for the day I can see them in person. I mailed each of them a card from me along with a smaller note card that they could send to one of their friends. It warms my heart to think of the many hugs traveling through the US postal service!

My card was inspired by my need to reach out to the special women in my life. I saw a video tutorial Bruno Bertucci made (click here to view it) of a new-to-me technique, scrappy strips, and it inspired my project. It's an easy card to make and with Stampin Up DSP, all the coordination is done for you. I love easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

I started with the Peaceful Poppies designer series paper (DSP) from the Mini catalog because its bright colors make me happy. My first card was in a portrait layout; I used the leftover scraps to make a landscape card similar to Bruno's.

Monthly Blog Hop

Hello friends,

I hope you are enjoying our Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators Blog Hop featuring December holiday projects. Demonstrators from the UK, and the US are participating so we have many fun projects to share with you! You may have arrived from Sue Boerner's blog. She has a fabulous project!

I decided to share a card featuring one of my favorite stamp set bundles from the Holiday catalog, Dashing Deer, and coordinating framelits, Detailed Deer. My card was inspired by a card made by Michele Chard; click here to check out her video.

I was looking for a project to showcase Frost White Shimmer paint and came across Michele's card---not only did it use shimmer paint, it featured my favorite stamp set bundle, AND I learned that shimmer paint can be used like ink to stamp an image. Jackpot!

My project features pine trees (Nature's Root stamp set) stamped with Frost White shimmer paint and Whisper White cardstock spritzed with Frost White shimmer paint---lots of shimmery sparkle! The sentiment, found in the Winter Woods stamp set (another favorite!), is stamped with Balmy Blue ink. I used silver glimmer paper for my deer and added a flower die cut from the Detailed Deer framelits, topped with a rhinestone for added bling.

Applying for a Stampin Up Display Board Stamper spot

Hi friends!

If you know me, you know I'm passionate about stamping, Stampin' Up!, and sharing my love of stamping with everyone. Knowing that about me it should come as no surprise that I want to take that passion to the next level by becoming a display board stamper for Stampin' Up!'s big 30th birthday bash in Orlando!

I'm registered for the OnStage event and can hardly wait for November to roll around so I can hang out with my downline and thousands of other Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Orlando!
