Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Tis the Season DSP Evergreen Gift Card Holder

 Hi friends!

Welcome to our monthly Paper Crafting Blog Hop! This month our theme is gift packaging projects created by talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we share fun projects and various design styles. You may have arrived from Martina Auer’s blog. I loved her project!

The weather is getting colder, and as the song goes, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I've been mentally preparing myself for the Christmas shopping rush, especially as I'm being bombarded with holiday deals. But I like giving gift cards - they are always the right style and size 😉

My project is a gift card holder perfect packaging for giving the perfect gift. It features the Tis the Season designer series paper (DSP) and the Evergreen 3D embossing folder on brushed brass metallic foil paper, together they create a festive package.

Monthly Blog Hop -- December Holidays!

Hello friends!

Welcome to our December Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators Blog Hop. Our projects this month feature ideas for the December holiday season. If you arrived from Sue McDonald's blog, you saw her wonderful project!

My project is a Christmas gift -- I  plan on making several tissue box covers to give as gifts. The Let it Snow specialty designer series paper (DSP) is perfect for this project as it has sparkly bling built in. And the coordinating Snowman Season stamp set was perfect for creating an embellished sentiment. Score!

The DSP paper has coordinating Christmas colors so its perfect to use for holiday gifts and the snowmen/winter themes mean the tissue box can be displayed (and used) long after Christmas. Double Yay!! Even better, three of the coordinating colors -- Real Red, Shaded Spruce, and In Color 2018-2020 Blueberry Bushel -- are on sale during the Online Extravaganza, November 20-22. Perfect time to order cardstock and ink pads in these colors!

The embellished sentiment on the side of the box was created by re-purposing the Layering Oval die cut from the lid; before cutting the flaps on the lid, I placed the oval die in the center of the lid, folded opposite edges in so they touched the long sides of the die and then ran it through my die cutting machine. Later, using the Layering Ovals dies, I die cut a scalloped oval for the sentiment from white cardstock to layer on the oval die cut of Shaded Spruce cardstock. Staying with the color theme of the DSP, I used Shaded Spruce for the sentiment and Pool Party for snowflakes from the Snowman Season stamp set.

The inspiration for this project came from a SplitCoastStampers tissue box cover tutorial; click here to view their tutorial. I tweaked the cutting measurements in the tutorial so only 1 piece of the 12x12" DSP is needed. My ingredient list and cutting measurements are below.
