Monthly Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Birthday ideas

Hello friends!

Welcome to our August Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators Blog Hop focusing on birthday celebrations. If you arrived from Sandy Ward's blog, you saw her wonderful project!

My project is a birthday card that was inspired by a card I saw demonstrated at a Stampin Up event. I love replicating cards and putting my own spin on it!

I am a big fan of Coastal Cabana and was super excited when it returned with the color refresh last year. That might be why I wanted to recreate this card when I snapped this photo at the event...

Are you a fan of the Coastal Cabana color? I'd love to hear what your favorite color of the moment it is. Leave me a comment and let me know what color you're currently favoring.

I tweaked the card a tiny bit; my card adds silver metallic edged ribbon and silver metallic pearls for a bit of bling.

Besides being drawn to the color of the card, I loved that this was a quick and easy card to assemble. Quick and easy are needed when you celebrate 8 birthdays in July and August as my family does!

Ingredient list:
  • Thick White cardstock (cs), 5.5 x 8.5"
  • White cs 2 x 3.5"
  • Coastal Cabana cs, 4 x 5.25"
  • ink: coastal cabana, smokey slate
  • Bloom and Grow stamp set
  • metallic edged ribbon - silver
  • metallic silver pearls
  • dimensionals
Thanks for hopping with us!

  3. Your card is awesome. Coastal Cabana is such a great color and I love it paired with Lovely Lipstick. I am a pinks + purples gal - and my favorite changes all the time - but my current favorite SU color is Blueberry Bushel. TFS

    1. I love paring Coastal Cabana with reds, too. Especially for Valentine's cards.

  4. Lovely card. I'm a bit fickle with colours. Seaside Spray is REALLY growing on me. I guess I'm a blue girl.

    2. I'm also falling for Seaside Spray. Especially when it's sponged!
