April Pumpkin Posse -- My Paper Pumpkin cards and exclusive posse projects

Hey friends!

I love this month's (April 2013) My Paper Pumpkin kit!

The directions made this card
made following the instructions

I got creative and came up with these designs using the items included with the kit this month---not too bad!

You Kick Booty!
Love your guts!

Inspired by the Love part of the stamp, I got my heart punch out and went to town.....and this is the result:

Love you!

I always have related project for my pumpkin posse---my customers who selected me when they signed up for their My Paper Pumpkin subscription. This month we made a wallet for their cards...seriously!!!
Inside view---the cards fit nicely

Decorated with left overs from the kit

I designed another card for the posse featuring the cherry cobbler ink spot they received in their pumpkin kits and the Easy Events stamp set; using a dauber made the background with the cherry cobbler ink spot. This card was inspired by a card that was demonstrated at Stampin' Up! regional event in Baltimore April 13th. Simple but with WOW!

Subscribe to My Paper Pumpkin today and you can make the Posse projects for FREE in May!

Wedding preparations -- meaning papercrafting projects galore!

Hi friends!

My daughter is getting married in a few weeks. For a papercrafter like myself this has offered many opportunities to use my love of stamping, papercrafting, and Stampin' Up! products.

It began with the Save the Dates....for me at least, for them it started when my daughter said YES!

I used Stampin' Up's digital software program MyDigitalStudio to create their save the dates and had them printed as postcards through Stampin' Up! What a cute couple!
Save the Date!

I considered making the invitations myself but had a change of heart when I found several Wilton DIY invitation sets on clearance at a local craft store with the colors the bride wanted. I started with Wilton's Vintage Ivy pocket kit (see sample below) and added some serious embellishments to meet the bride's desire for invitations that match her wedding theme of elegant glitter.

After my embellishments were added...the outside was no longer plain Jane! With addition of a piece of very vanilla cardstock embossed with the Lacy Brocade embossing folder, a belly band featuring Champagne glimmer paper, topped with a Label die cut also embossed with the Lacy Brocade pattern and the bride and groom's initials stamped with the Lovely Letters alphabet stamps in the embossed designer frame,,,,well maybe the embellishments went a little over the top!

Champagne glimmer paper adds some bling

But wait it didn't end there.....I carried the embellishment to the inside!

I am blessed to have some wonderful friends and fellow stampers who volunteered their time and talents to assemble the embellishments for these invitations. My good friend Chris dubbed the Saturday we got together to do this as the "Invitation Making Extravagana" or IME. This involved 4 Big Shots, a heat embossing station (more on that project below), stamping, hand cutting, and a few other jobs--trust me when I say much work was involved! Check out these photos from the IME...

The final product

For the bridal shower my very good friend Lynn made the centerpieces and favors. She is also a stamper so she came up with this cute design which holds a packet of flower seeds. Too cute!

At the shower I asked everyone present to make a small 6x6" scrapbook page with the materials I provided and to write a few words on their creation for the bride-to-be. I had an camera to take instant photos (Fuji Instax mini---totally awesome!) which were added to the pages to make them even more special. Even those who had never stamped or scrapbooked before enjoyed creating their their part of this special gift. All of the pages will go into a special scrapbook I'm making so the bride-to-be has a special momento from her bridal shower.
Barb did a wonderful job on her page

The bride-to-be asked me to make her a Thank You banner like she had found on Pinterest --the happy couple will have their photo taken with it on their wedding day and include that photo with their thank you notes. I made the banner and gave it as shower gift..... she loved it! I printed each letter as an outline at 450% then using my simply scored tool I traced it onto black cardstock; I used an xacto knife to cut each letter out and adhered them to pieces of vanilla cardstock backed with the cardboard from glimmer paper packs (or similar cardboard) cut to the same size as the vanilla cardstock. The vanilla cardstock was sponged with crumb cake ink. The heart was cut from red glimmer paper with one of the heart framelits. I'm hoping if it's windy on their weddng day the extra weight of the cardboard will keep the letters relatively still.
Thank you banner for a special wedding day photo

I am in charge of making the wedding programs, wishing tree tags, and table numbers. The mock-up of the wedding program looks like this...

Wishing trees tags were also completed at the IME (mostly by Michelle---thanks, Michelle!)....

The bride-to-be pitched in the other night and we made table numbers using a set of tented table numbers (they were discounted at a local craft store) which we cut, sponged, and adhered to early espresso cardstock with a piece of  Lacy Brocade-embossed cardstock. I think the numbers look rather elegant if I do say so myself...
side view shows ribbons inside to keep them tented

the lacy brocade embossing looks very elegant

There is more to do....escort cards and menu cards for the dinner table are still needed. No rest for the weary or this paper-crafting mama of the bride!
