First day of convention! Riverton, convention bag, stamps, & much more!

Hi friends!

I am having so much fun at the 2013 Stampin' Up! 25th anniversary convention hanging out with my stamping pals Susan and Chris.

We took the tour of the Stampin' Up! home office in Riverton...I had my picture taken at the big rock in front of the building....plus we snapped a few other photos.

We received our convention bags...a lovely back pack celebrating the silver anniversary and the popular quatre fancy design.

But the fun wasn't over yet....prize patrol found Chris! She received Modern Medley DSP along with s few other great products. Then Shelli Gardiner, Stampin Up Owner and CEO, gave everyone the Tags 4 You stamp set.

The theme of this convention is Be the Difference and we participated in several opportunies to put this in practice after the main presentation---we participated in a Guinness World Record effort to send the most cards from one place (and broke the record!), created birthday paper craft items and boxed them to be delivered to sick childern celebrating birthdays at Children's Hospital. I made a differnce thanks to Stampin Up!

And the fun continues tomorrow!

Stamping is fun...and convention is fabulous!!!

Tiny Dancers

Hey friends!

My daughter and her cousins participated in a dance camp this past week. The highlight of the camp was a performance where the dancers showed off their hard work and new skills.

The photos from the performance are not that great because I had to turn off the flash---so between the dancers' movement and my shaky hand, there some very blurry pictures! Anyway, there was a variety of dance styles in the show--modern, ballet, jazz, etc.

I am so proud of the girls! Below are a few photos that I'm sharing....sorry about the poor quality :)

Happy 4th of July!! Celebrating the land of the free and the home of the brave

Hello friends!

It's 4th of July! A day to celebrate---our freedoms, our service men and women, our veterans, and our way of life. What better way to do that than to throw a parade!

If you don't have a parade near you, enjoy these photos I took at our local parade this morning. Our parade draws participants from a variety of groups....veterans, politicians, neighborhoods, local businesses, schools, families, churches, car enthusiasts, sports teams, scouts, etc.

Happy Birthday to the US!

Diaper cake for a baby shower gift

Hi friends!

A few weeks ago I saw a really super cute baby shower gift made from disposable baby diapers. So when a shower was planned for a colleague I decided to make my own. I searched youtube for directions to make a cake of my own; I mostly followed this video. While my first effort isn't too shabby, it does have a noticeable tilt; I think if I practice a bit more I could make a pretty awesome diaper cake!

I used some retired Stampin' Up! designer series paper (DSP) (raspberry tart) and coordinating ribbon as accents. The happy couple are expecting a girl but mom is not a fan of pink, so I chose colors that complemented rose red, with kiwi kiss being the main color....what do you think of my first effort??

I used a box of 106 size 1 disposable diapers and decorated the layers with a set of bath toys and stretchy headbands that had small bows.
