Merry Christmas!

Hello friends!

I hope Santa visited your house and left a little something for you---I am sure you were good all year!

Every year I make one-of-a-kind Christmas cards for most of my family and friends. And every year it seems I am making last minute cards on Christmas Eve; this year was no different, but keeping the design simple and using Stampin Up's coordinating inks, cardstock, and, designer series paper (DSP) I was able to make 4 cards in less than an hour.

Penguin from the owl punch

I cut the tree and candy canes using the stocking accents die with my big shot; two of the candy canes and the tree were cut from the festival of prints DSP, the other candy cane was cut from cardstock in a coordinating color (riding hood red). I added sparkle to the images with dazzling details and bit of bling with silver glimmer paper punched with the scallop border punch.

For the penguin card, I embossed the cardstock base with the vintage wallpaper embossing folder, made the penguin using the owl punch, and stamped the greeting in real red ink with a stamp from the Hand Penned Holidays stamp set; I added dazzling details to a few spots on the card base and incorporated silver glimmer paper by punching a small oval that the penguin is standing on.

I have to confess something.....I don't make a Christmas card for my husband. I am not sure why, but I always buy him a card. After this year though I will be making his card!
We bought the same card for each other, even though they were purchased at different places (his from a card store, mine from the grocery store). Next year his card will be just as unique and special as he is. He deserves a one-of-a-kind card, special hand-stamped with love card, too, and I am going to make it happen!

A Elegantly Easy Christmas card and other Christmas treats

Hi friends!

A few weeks ago I made a simple but elegant Christmas card and I finally have a minute to share the beauty of this card with you.

This card uses Stampin Up's new Core'dinations Gumball Green cardstock which can be distressed or sanded to show the coordinating under layer. I added a flourish designer frame around the ornament found in the Joyous Celebrations stamp set and embeliished with cherry cobbler sweater trim.

Want to know how easy this card was to put together? Well, good because I made a video!

I've also made some Hershey nugget Christmas treats for my friends. These were inspired by a video my friend KricutKrazy posted on her blog kricutkrazy. These are also very easy to make!
1. Cut 4 pieces of 1x3" DSP strips
2. Cut 1 piece of coordinating cardstock 2x4" and score 1/4" on both long sides.
3. Secure the the DSP strips on Hershey nuggets using glue dots
4. Place a line of tape runner down the center of the cardstock and press the covered nuggets on top.
5. Place the tray inside a pretzel rod bag, tie with ribbon and voila, a little Christmas love for someone special!

Feeling a little merry...

Hey friends!

I am feeling just a bit merry. Maybe because I finally had a minute to make a banner from an idea that has been peculating in my head for a while. I used the largest die from Stampin Up's label framelits to cut Real Red and Lucky Limeade cardstock and the next largest die to cut DSP from the Festival of Prints DSP stack; I used a smaller size die on a piece of whisper White which I embossed with the fancy fan folder and spritzed with frosted white shimmer paint. I cut the letters from Red Glimmer paper using the junior type sizzlits. I embellished with a variety of Stampin Up products. I think it's festive and I'll be displaying at my desk at work.

You can almost see the shimmer from the shimmer paint spritzed

added embellishments included rhinestones, buttons, pearls

Speaking of work, I am participating in a cookie exchange at my office. I decided to package my cookies in Stampin Up's kraft boxes. I heat embossed snowflakes using a mixture of white and iridescent ice embossing powders then stamped more snowflakes with Versamark. I plan to add a belly band and bow made from Stampin Up's Be of Good Cheer DSP. I'll post a picture of the finished cookies and boxes soon.

Just waiting for cookies!

Hope you are also feeling a little merry!
